Sumit Parsad, BSc(Kin)
Sumit began his journey as an Occupational Therapist after graduating from Manipal University in 2017. Since then, his professional journey has led his to work with older adults and seniors in variety of settings where he has treated many different clients with neurodegenerative concerns.
Sumit also completed his degree in Gerontology from George Brown College, Toronto in 2020 as he was more inclined to work with seniors with Dementia. He is also passionate about the use of Occupational Therapy as a holistic approach to supporting clients to identify their strengths and develop plans to work towards fulfilling their potential. He believes that having a multidisciplinary approach and involving all stakeholders enhances the outcome for clients, improving their independence and quality of life.
Sumit believes in the power of an empathy and deep listening to connect with clients, their families and supports, and aims to provide excellent advocacy. In his free time, he enjoys travelling, photography, swimming, hiking and playing chess.
